Building & Planning for the Future

It was good to be back on campus this week. As we head into the final stretch of this academic year, we are continuing to plan for the future. Recruiting and retaining students is always a high priority and a focus of our activities. I enjoyed visiting with several students this week to hear how their college experiences are going. I also visited with a few prospective students and am looking forward to visiting with more this weekend during Legacy Day. Having our alumni return to campus with their children to explore their future is always special for us. It is also fun to spend time with our alumni to learn about their Tech experiences and to show them all of our campus enhancements.
VP Jim King brought an architecture design team to campus to review the concepts for the next rounds of student housing, parking and related campus improvements. We are excited about how our campus will continue to grow and be transformed over the next five years.
I made a short trip to Bossier and Shreveport this week to plan for the future with our partners in cyber, defense and health. The partnerships that we are establishing in each of these areas are positioning our university to have even greater national-scale impacts for the future. More on this later….
