From the desk of President Leslie K. Guice
Blogging for Tech

Thanks to those of you who have provided feedback to me about my blog. Since becoming president, I have had a goal of getting at least one blog post out each week. My purpose is to keep all of the university’s stakeholders informed about the things that I do so that you can keep up with campus developments and where the institution is headed. I also like to highlight some of the wonderful people who are so important to the university and its success. I always welcome your feedback.
This has been another full week of meetings on and off campus and getting together with corporate partners, students, prospective students, community members, alumni, faculty and staff, and my administrative team. There were also day trips to Shreveport and Bossier City, Baton Rouge, and West Monroe. I have greatly enjoyed some special time to meet with our student body through an SGA-hosted Q&A session, and a banquet to recognize outstanding organizations who led the SGA-sponsored Operation Shoebox. Over 30,000 boxes of goodies were collected by 32 student organizations to send to our servicemen and servicewomen before the holidays. The leading organizations were Sigma Kappa sorority, Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Lambda Sigma Honors Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Student Veterans Organization. We have a great student body!
Here are a few of my favorite pics for the week:
