A great day to be a Bulldog

This has been another busy week of activities for me. Each day and each event has given me a greater appreciation for our university and its people. What a great day to be a Bulldog! And that was the theme of my message as I met with numerous groups throughout the week.
As the week began, Kathy and I enjoyed meeting with Coaches Brooke & Scott Stoehr, the Lady Techsters and many of their loyal fans at a welcome back supper at Argent Pavilion on Monday night.
On Tuesday, we welcomed Mayor Ronny Walker, some local legislators, and members of the Board of Regents and University of Louisiana System staff to review our capital outlay projects. We always enjoy having the opportunity to tell the Tech story to these folks, and there is nothing like letting them see Tech in action. We took them on a brief tour of campus to see all of the construction that is underway and to see some of the special educational experiences that we offer to our students.
On Wednesday, VP Brooks Hull, AD Tommy McClelland and Associate AD Marco Born joined with me on a trip to Houston and Dallas to meet with alumni to talk about future plans for Tech. We also stopped by the Learfield headquarters in Dallas to review our partnership and future opportunities with them.
On Thursday, I was pleased to speak to the Ruston Civic Guild. What a wonderful group of ladies who are among the strongest leaders in our community! And on Thursday evening, Kathy and I enjoyed gathering with more Tech friends at the Grambling Chamber of Commerce awards event. We were there in part to recognize our own Dr. Reggie Owens who received a special recognition by the Chamber.
Throughout the week, I had numerous meetings with my administrative team members and several visits with students who stopped by the office.
Hope you enjoy a few of my favorite pics of the week:
