In the final week of summer heading into a busy fall quarter… I am really looking forward to having our students and faculty back on campus in full force next week. Everyone is working hard to get the campus ready and to prepare to make it a great experience for our students. I made a couple of trips to Bossier City this week, one to meet with Chancellor Rick Bateman of Bossier Parish Community College to discuss joint academic programs, and the other to meet with Bob Hinson, Director of the National Strategic Research Institute in Nebraska to discuss potential research collaborations.
Here are a few of my favorite pics for the week:
James Carter, new ULS Board member, stopped by the office for a visit
Student La’Darrius Thomas came by to discuss his future plans – a most impressive young man with an incredible story
Loyal International Studies staff member Bijoya Chakraborty came by before she heads off to a new job closer to family.
Chatting with Legend Willis Reed. Looking forward to having his grandson on campus this fall.
Jim Robken and the Band of Pride have been practicing all week. Looking forward to seeing the 200 BoP members in new uniforms this year.
Bert Jones was one of several Lincoln Parish Legends that recognized and thanked sportswriter Buddy Davis for the huge impact he has had on so many people. Thank you, Buddy!
After finishing piles, Lincoln Builders began excavations for laying foundations for the press box & suites
Excited to see ground-breaking for the new housing project beginning at the Homer-California intersection
